How to create super successful affirmations to get anything you want

Last week, I talked about how I use affirmations every single day because I believe they’re truly the foundation to changing how you think.

Today, I’m expanding on the topic of creating your own affirmations to talk about three key elements that can really help you craft the best mantra for YOU. (Because it doesn’t matter if there’s some affirmation that everyone says is just ah-mazing...if it doesn’t appeal to you, it won’t work.)

In her book, Creative Visualization, Shakti Gawain says you need three elements to create a strong enough intention so you can turn any affirmation into a reality.

“When you have strong intention to create something – that is, you deeply desire it, you completely believe that you can do it, and you are totally willing to have it – it is very likely to manifest in your life in one way or another,” she says.

3 elements of successful affirmations

These three elements require you to really tap into your inner wisdom and be honest with yourself. So take a deep breath and get ready to dig deep!

1. Desire: No affirmation, no matter how well crafted, can manifest your goal unless you have a true desire for what you want. So you can’t just kinda hope to meet the ideal man. You have to WANT it in every part of your being.

Ask yourself: “Do I truly, deeply desire this goal to be realized?”

2. Belief: If you really want to make a change or manifest something new in your life, you have to believe that your goal is possible to attain. I like to say that you have to believe BEFORE you can see anything manifested. Otherwise, you’re just giving your goal a bunch of lip service when you say your affirmations.

Ask yourself: “Do I truly believe this goal can actually happen and that I can do it?”

3. Acceptance: If this goal or change that you’re seeking was handed to you tomorrow, would you willingly open your arms and accept it? Sometimes we think we want something, but we’re actually afraid of it coming into our lives or we like the pursuit more than the actual realization. If you want your affirmations to be successful, you must be certain that you can receive your goal.

Ask yourself: “Am I completely willing to have this?”

The bottom line here is that you must be crystal clear of your intention when creating an affirmation.

“The clearer and stronger your intention, the more quickly and easily your creative visualization will work,” Gawain says.
