20 inspiring quotes about gratitude

Gratitude...It’s a word we throw around often, but I believe it’s still an underutilized tool for welcoming happiness into our lives.

I think the art of being thankful is so essential that we could benefit from a strong daily gratitude practice.

That’s because when you aren’t crystal clear about what you already have to be grateful for, you likely feel unhappy and negative most of the time. You probably focus on the seemingly “bad” things that happen to you and can’t see the good in life.

Feeling and expressing gratitude, on the other hand, helps you feel happier on a regular basis. You appreciate the simple, everyday moments that you experience. And you feel more love and joy, even during emotionally painful times.

This has been particularly true for me after my older dog passed away this week. I miss her terribly, but in between the sadness and general grief, I’ve been able to focus on all the wonderful ways that Sadie brought joy into our lives. In fact, after we returned home from euthanizing my sweet dog, my husband, daughter, and I sat together and shared several ways that we’re each thankful for her. That gratitude has definitely helped me heal my emotional pain around her death.

But don’t take it just from me. I gathered 20 quotes about gratitude to inspire you to boost your own gratitude practice.

Enjoy! :)
